The collaboration between GIUGIARO ARCHITETTURA and the Del Conca Group will be officially presented at Cersaie 2015. Del Conca will present the new collection entirely inspired by the world of cars, GA by GIUGIARO ARCHITETTURA, in a stand set-up of almost 900 m2, completely designed by the important architecture studio in Turin. Three environments will be set up inside – a living room, study and kitchen – in perfect metropolitan style. Furthermore, in the large hospitality area where visitors are welcomed will be Parcour, the innovative concept car created by Italdesign-Giugiaro that was also the inspiration for the collection of floor and wall tiles. The presentation will take place on Tuesday 29 September at 2 p.m. at the Del Conca Space (P36 STAND A16): Fabrizio Giugiaro and Giorgietto Giugiaro together with Enzo Donald Mularoni – CEO of the Del Conca Group – will show the distinctive features of the series through a journey into the world of design, where talent and creativity, as well as speed and adrenaline, meet to capture market trends and expectations.
The new collection GA by GIUGIARO ARCHITETTURA draws its inspiration from the air intake patterns of Parcour and the texture of carbon fiber, a material that witnesses to the technological calling of the two brands. The result is a play of balance between smooth and textured surfaces created with shades of black and gray, colors that evoke the brand identity of Giugiaro Archietettura. Destined for use in all of the rooms of the home – from the living room to the kitchen – the GA collection by GIUGIARO ARCHITETTURA is also perfect for commercial spaces. Its style is contemporary and the signature of GIUGIARO ARCHITETTURA is present and visible on some of the tiles. Created from through body colored porcelain stoneware tile, the collection is resistant to damage from wear and scratching, acids and bases, and – like carbon fiber – resistant to extreme weather conditions.
“Ceramic is an important component in an automobile, so it is not an unknown material for us – Fabrizio Giugiaro tells us – but the idea of bringing it into our architectural projects was enticing. Porcelain stoneware offers incredible possibilities to us as architects, both for the variety of possible compositions and for the technical advantages offered in comparison with other products. Our experience from automobiles to industrial design is now solidified in a very particular product also capable of meeting aesthetical demands; we have created colors and surfaces that are perhaps entirely new to this world.” With great satisfaction for the collaboration with Ceramica Del Conca, Giugiaro continues “There has been more than just a pairing up with this company; there has been a comparative conversation with a company that desires to invest in and design new elements!”
The collaboration between the DEL CONCA GROUP and GIUGIARO ARCHITECTURE has already been consolidated in its first project. The flooring of the prestigious boutiques designed by Giugiaro Architettura in Galleria delle Carrozze, a monumental area in Milan Central Station overlooking Piazza Duca d'Aosta, has been created with size 60x60cm porcelain stoneware tiles from Del Conca's Dogma collection. The Gallery is the main entrance of the station and the absolute transparence of the spaces created by Giugiaro allows the beautiful vaults of the Gallery to be admired even from within the individual shops.
“We share a technological calling, love for design and passion for engines with Giugiaro!” affirms Enzo Donald Mularoni, CEO of the Del Conca Group, which has always been an active participant in the world of sports. The Group – which is a current sponsor of British racer Sam Lowes and Team Speed Up - boasts the title of official supplier for MacLaren and Toro Rosso, a choice that underlines its attention to technology, a distinctive feature of its ceramic production.
